Depression can happen gradually or all of a sudden.


Sometimes there can be an obvious trigger, however often you are unable to work out the reason behind these emotions. All you may be left with is:

  • a sense of loss in yourself – mind, body or soul
  • suicidal thoughts
  • the urge to self harm
  • sadness, tearfulness or withdrawal
  • the feeling that you will never be happy again
  • questions over your existence
